If you’re interested in carpooling, meet in the back parking lot at the church at 9:50 A.M. and we’ll leave for Auburndale at 10:00 A.M. Please let Vicki Iliff know if you plan to carpool or meet the group at the tearoom.

Empowering Honduran Students

In Spanish, "chispa” means "spark," which is exactly Chispa’s goal:

to inspire and empower Honduran students with access to books.

Chispa Project works to create school libraries and spark a passion for learning that will grow and be nurtured through a community driven approach. Since 2016, over 57,000 books have been delivered to more than 100 schools and organizations.

Vicki Iliff, Jean Howell, and Patti Berry are joining volunteers from across the U.S. in April (4/21-28) to help install and inaugurate a library at The Raúl Zaldivar School, located in Santa Cruz de Yojoa, a rural school near Honduras’ largest lake. The school has 680 students and 22 teachers. The Chispa Project will donate 1400 books to the school’s brand-new library. Please keep Vicki, Jean, and Patti in your prayers as they travel to Honduras and participate in this very worthy endeavor.
