The Rev. Dr. William A. Fisackerly IV, Pastor
Kim Fisackerly, Music Director
Kim and Bill Fisackerly (Fi-SACK-er-ly) have been married 40 years (or, as Rev. Bill says, “Not long enough!”). They met at our United Methodist Children’s Camp in Brandon, FL in 1982, where they were on the summer team for the 5th and 6th grade camps.
Kim was born in West Virginia and moved with her family to Miami when she was 3 years old. She grew up in Miami (Kendall area) and is a life-long Dolphins fan. (She even had season tickets to the 1972 “Perfect Season”!)
Kim is gifted in music, drama, writing, baking, and has a love for children and making people feel welcomed. She currently is holding two jobs – Music Director for First UMC of Lake Wales and in customer service at Publix. But her greatest joy has been in raising their three children – Bethany, Allyson, and Wil – and in now being Mimi to her grandchildren Ollie and Annie!
Rev. Bill was born in Tampa to Rev. Bill and Annabelle Fisackerly, a Methodist pastoral family. They served at 6 different churches while “Billy” was growing up, ranging from Tampa to Havana, Florida. (Look it up!)
Rev. Bill and Kim were married in 1984 and moved to Atlanta for seminary at Candler School of Theology, where he served as an assistant pastor at Cokesbury UMC in Atlanta. Since that time, they have been assigned to Deltona, Sopchoppy/Ochlockonee Bay (look it up!), Estero, Port Charlotte, Tampa, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, and now here at Lake Wales/Indian Lake Estates.
Rev. Bill loves playing guitar, fishing, disc golf, telling bad jokes, and being with Kim. He also loves finding new ways to tell the Gospel story so that people can hear it fresh and be inspired to share their faith with others. He also loves mangos!

Brenda Kavelak, Accompanist
Brenda was born in Ridgway, Pennsylvania and brought up in the Swedish Lutheran church, where she learned to play the organ. she and her husband Rich have been married 33 years. Brenda has 4 special step-children, 9 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She and Rich moved to Florida 30 years ago. She previously played for Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Haines City, FL. She has filled in for all denominations of churches in the past and is currently playing for Indian Lakes Estates United Methodist Church as well as First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales. She loves giving back to the Lord through her music each Sunday and enjoys accompanying the choirs as well.
Philip Van Vlack, Pastoral Assistant
Philip Van Vlack was born and raised in Portland, Connecticut. He moved to Florida in 2016, and met his wife-to-be Rachel in 2018. They were married on February 18, 2023 and moved to Lake Wales soon after.
Until recently, Philip was not a person of faith. The Lord began to move in his heart, and he confessed his faith in Jesus Christ in early 2025; he and his wife found their home at First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales soon after. They both joined the choir and began to volunteer in various ministries. Philip has felt the call towards ministry, and as of October 2026, is officially a ministerial candidate!
Philip began helping with the A/V ministry almost immediately after finding First UMC, and offered whatever else he could to Rev. Bill (Wesley Wednesday was the result of their brainstorming sessions). To help provide Philip with education and experience and also assist Rev. Bill in some of his pastoral/administrative duties, the Pastoral Assistant position was created.
